Teller of Stories
In January, 2020, I made my someday today, and declared my intention to be an author. I have always loved crafting with words; so much so as to be called, "a wizard of words".

My debut offering, the short story Rusty's Mountain, was spawned by a conversation I had with a business acquaintance where I shared how unhappy I was in life; feeling there was something deeper, more meaningful, more authentic. He shared this analogy of spending your life climbing a mountain, and upon reaching the top, looking around only to see another mountain in the distance as the one you really want to be on. Rusty's Mountain is a metaphor for my journey of self-discovery; off my old mountain, questing for my new.
After completing the story, a question about one of the characters came to mind: "How does one become a troll under the bridge anyway?" The answer revealed Oliver, and his tale opened the flood gates on an epic fantasy novel centered in the world of Rusty's Mountain. Thus, Messengers of the First Order of Love is channeling through me. Stay tuned as I complete this massive undertaking to get the wonder-full tale out to you.

As fate would have it, Rusty does escape the horror that is his home. Leaving a lonely, oppressed life, he sets out on a quest for truth and a journey to live on that other mountain, in that other castle: his Castle of Love. The intriguing encounters along his path each reveal a truth about who he is; all leading to self-embrace and a positive shift in his perspective on life.
Rusty’s Mountain is an imaginative short story rooted in spirituality, fantasy, and reality. On the one hand, it is a whimsical tale about a young adult’s journey toward self-love. On the other, it is a thought provoking and inspiring self-help book in disguise. While being entertained by this metaphor for the author’s own healing journey, readers are invited to reflect on what truth lies within for them and are offered useful possibilities for bringing well-being and peace to their life.
